SIMONA PRIVES
Simona Prives composes immersive video installations and collages that offer a multi-sensorial construction of reality. Presented in life-sized projections, each moving image incorporates a variety of themes and materials. Playing with time and space, she explores the dialectic of growth and decay and our complex relationship with the environment. To make each animation, Simona draws, disassembles and reconfigures maps, geological patterns and industrial imagery to breed new worlds that are at once familiar and abstract. Each collage layers stop-motion drawings, paintings, hand shot video and archival film footage. The work is a dynamic choreography between the audience, video animations and sound compositions.
