WORK
“There’s a sort of performative aspect to my work where I don’t physically want to be seen doing this, but there’s a maintenance that’s required to keep the works running.
The sculptures have sewn elements that take a long time, and also are like another sort of element of performance — it took me about fifteen hours to sew each piece together.
That’s important because it’s sort of a meditation on the piece — it kind of imbues it with all the things I was thinking about while I was working on it. I think that level of care for detail reflects that element of care for the piece in and of itself.”
