Capucine Bourcart is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City, where she has lived since 2006. Originally from France, she carries a layered cultural background shaped by French and Vietnamese heritage. Her practice spans photography, textiles, assemblage, and installation, and is guided by material exploration and physical process.

Bourcart gathers overlooked and everyday elements found in urban, rural, and domestic environments, bringing them into dialogue with more traditionally valued materials. Through techniques such as embroidery, weaving, knitting, and assemblage, materials are transformed and allowed to shift in meaning. Her work resists hierarchy, creating connections between the humble and the precious, the natural and the human-made.

Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in the United States and internationally, and her photo-based works are held in museum collections in France and New York. She has realized four large-scale public artworks in New York City and participated in art fairs including Art on Paper, Art Wynwood, and Flux Art Fair. Bourcart earned her MFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2023 and has completed residencies at Marble House, Monson Arts, Kino Saito, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Vermont Studio Center. She is the recipient of the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award and grants from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Uniqlo Park Expressions, and The Puffin Foundation.
